Nicolas Mesly is a Canadian reporter, photographer and agronomist living in Montreal, Quebec. He frequently collaborated with several magazines including Coopérateur, Bulletin des agriculteurs, Country Guide, L’actualité, Québec Science, as well as dailies such as the Globe and Mail, Huffington Post (Québec) et La France Agricole to produce articles all around the world (Mexico, Cuba, India, Ukraine, Haiti, New Zealand, France and the USA). He also works as a commentator for Société Radio-Canada and has won some thirty journalism awards. In fact, his hard-hitting documentary about farmland speculation Québec terre d’asphalte was nominated for one of the Judith Jasmin journalism awards in 2021. The documentary talked about land use and urban sprawl which led to the publication by Éditions MultiMondes in 2022 of his book “Terres d’asphalte”. Nicolas Mesly has been covering issues of US farm policy for the past fifteen years and five in Latin America, three of those as a freelancer in Chile. Facilitator and speaker, Nicolas Mesly speaks three languages: English, French and Spanish.
